Ice Cream Sandwhich Cake

So easy, so good, and kids love it

12-14 Ice Cream Sandwich Bars unwrapped
2 Tub LG Cook Whip
I bottle chocolate sauce

Spread Cool Whip on bottom of dish. Layer horizontal row of bars then spread a layer cool whip and drizzle with sauce, continue process alternating vertical and horizontal rows for bars, Top of with layer cool whip and drizzle chocolate sauce on top.

Trifle Easy and inexspensive great for pot lucks!

This is an easy budget minded dessert for any occasion. Simple change the pudding flavor and candy or fruit you use to garnish the top and in between the layers.

My son's grandmother showed me this, and I make this for get family events.  Everyone loves the rich treat.  My sister makes trifles and gets pretty creative with it!

Our favorite is Reese's peanut butter cups or crushed Butterfinger!



You need

Pudding  2-4 large boxes


Coo Whip        1-2 large tubs  


Candy of your choice (inbetween layers and on top) 



Topping sauce (optional)

Ice Cream Sandwich Cake


This is an easy favorite treat in my home on a hot summer day.  Creamy, sweet, and chocolaty, it is sure to please any crowd!

Ice Cream Sandwiches layer in dish.




 Spread layer of cool whip over layer of bars, then stack another layer on top.




Top with another layer of cool whip and chocolate sauce, and crushed candy of your choice.





Pop in freezer for later!

Ambrosis Fruit Salad

Super easy, kids love it, and it is a fun summer dish for cookouts!



Mixed fruits, peeled, cored, and sliced or diced into bite-size pieces.




Fruit flavored mini-marshmallows and Cool Whip-- mix with fruit keep in fridge until serving.

Christmas Tamales

It is our tradition at Christmas to make Tamales and Posle'.  Posole' is a Mexican tradtional Christmas Soup, and oh so yummy.  Made with hominy, red chili , pork, and spices. Then it is topped with cilantro, lemon juice, green oions and small dollop of sour cream.

Making the home made red sauce

 Add Flour and cook till tosated



Add Puree chile

Simmer an put aside for later...


Cook Meat in a crock pot 12 hours then pour over the chili mixture and let cook some more.....


Soak the corn husk overnight


Make the Masa


Add Chili Powder and Lard to Masa



Wrap Tamale



Steam





Celebrate!

Mother Day 2011

I treated my mom to a brunch at Mimi's Cafe, we even had the Champagne Flight. The spinach quiche was fabulous and a great was had, it was a very nice day.
